Wild Weeds Collective was born from a shared passion for helping people build meaningful relationships with the plants growing around them. This is coupled with our desire to create a movement within the herbal community that promotes sustainable and accessible plant medicines for years to come.
With over 30 years of combined herbal experience (Bailey: 8 years; Nataljia: a whopping 22 years), we are now witnessing herbalism become increasingly popular. While this growing interest is exciting, we've also noticed that conversations around sustainability, ecology, and reciprocity with the plants themselves are often left behind. Our work is rooted in ecological herbalism. We believe that to truly know a plant, we must understand not only its medicinal uses, but also the land it grows on, the relationships it holds within its ecosystem, and the relationship we cultivate with it in return.
The name Wild Weeds Collective is rooted in our belief that resilient, abundant wild plants hold the key to creating a more sustainable and accessible future for the herbal community. These wild friends are often overlooked or dismissed as weeds, and we believe they are some of the most valuable herbal allies growing within arms reach. After all, what qualifies as a "weed" is entirely subjective. One person may see a dandelion as a nuisance to be removed, while another sees food, medicine, beauty, and nourishment for our dear pollinators.
• Getting to know the wild plants in your environment creates one of the most accessible and sustainable forms of herbal medicine.
• Building a relationship with the plants you call on for support fosters deeper healing, more meaningful medicine, and greater self-understanding.
Our hope is to spread herbal knowledge like wild weeds, widely, accessibly, and in a way that helps both people and plants thrive for generations to come.
